Tubex and the Environment
We recognise that our day to day activities inevitably impact on the environment. Tubex’ business policies are focused on protecting the environment in the best possible way.
Tubex has a comprehensive Environmental Policy which highlights the need for continual improvement, pollution prevention, and compliance with legislation as key factors in responding to the environmental challenges we face.
A dynamic and forward thinking organisation, Tubex has a strong emphasis on Research and Development whilst being environmentally aware.
Our environmental achievements include the Green Dragon Environmental Standard 3, ISO14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2008. These achievements culminated with Tubex winning the 2008 Rhondda Cynon Taff Business Club Award in 2009.
Tubex products are ecologically safe. Our shelters consist of polypropylene, a chemically and biologically safe material. Polypropylene (pp) is safe for animals, plants, and ground water. Consisting of carbon and hydrogen, polypropylene is even used as packaging material in the food industry.
UV Stabiliser is used to protect the polypropylene from early degradation, which is why it is sometimes necessary for shelters to be removed – creating the requirement for Tubex to implement a hassle free way of recycling.
All of Tubex Ltd. products are manufactured at Aberaman Park, Aberdare. In addition, we supply a number of planting accessories and other related items.
Tubex is continuously monitoring the Carbon Footprint of the manufacturing, distribution and use of treeshelters. This monitoring helps us in further reducing the emission of carbon.
