Consult with Confor

Tubex were represented by UK sales manager Tim Oliver at recent meetings to discuss Woodlands for Wales – future strategy for woodland and trees. Most welcome were initiatives to increase overall woodland cover and to bring largely un-managed farm woodlands into a formal management regime.

However, the default use of continuous cover forestry, coupled with mixed species planting (possibly at stand level) seemed to pose more questions than answers in the quest to lock up carbon and mitigate the likely impact of climate change.

Submissions have been made by interested parties to the Forestry Commission in Wales and we all await news of their deliberations.
