Netguard

The Tubex Netguard is supplied in pre-cut pieces for wrapping around the tree with an optional set of two Tubex releasable ties for attachment to a stake and a smaller ratchet tie to close the rim.

The Tubex Netguard can easily be installed around larger trees or shrubs, unlike some pre-formed nets, which have to be installed over the top of the plant.

A tree guard (net) does not provide growth benefits of a treeshelter or offer protection from herbicides.

Hints and tips

  • Provided in pre-cut form or complete rolls, both of which require more installation time than a pre-formed treeshelter
  • Tubex recommends the use of two Tubex releasable ties for the attachment of the netguard to a stake and one smaller ratchet tie for closing the rim
  • For growth benefits and herbicide protection consider a Tubex treeshelter - such as the Tubex Standard Treeshelter
  • Use a well driven, quality stake to a soil depth of at least 30cm (possibly deeper in cultivated soil)
