Tubex was proud to receive a visit from Ms Jane Davidson, the Welsh  Assembly Government Minister for Environment , Sustainability and Housing , on 16 September 2009.  This visit followed from Tubex’ award as the RCT Environmental Business of the Year Award for 2009.  The Minister was accompanied by Mr Terry O’Keefe from the Forestry Commission, Wales.

The visit included a tour of the company factory and a discussion with the Directors.  The company’s key message was that Tubex’ products can help to deliver more effective and efficient tree planting in many situations, during a time when tree planting really must increase if the UK is to contribute properly to its “Climate Change” mitigation commitments.

Many uses of Tubex products were discussed in contributing to a better environment, including in particular:

  • Rapid planting following storm damage (across Europe)
  • Land reclamation projects
  • Riparian planting

Arrangements were discussed to improve Tubex access to government initiatives and contacts within WAG and across Europe.”
