Tubex Sponsors Forestry Award
25 August 2017
Two Norfolk woodlands have been recognised in an annual award sponsored by Tubex.
The Excellence in Forestry Awards salute inspiring tales of forestry and woodland management and education projects.
One of the categories is the Silviculture Award, which Tubex has sponsored for many years, latterly jointly with Tubex customer Tilhill Forestry.
The award recognises and encourages exemplary silviculture in commercial woodlands or compartments of less than 30-years-old, where quality timber or wood fuel production is the primary aim.
This year, at the prestigious Royal Forestry Society event at Grimsthorpe Castle in Bourne, Lincolnshire, Gold was won by the Hoveton Estate in Norfolk, owned by Sir John and Tom Blofeld, for work on Stable Field Wood (Image shown above)
Peacock Wood at Hole Farm, also in Norfolk, and owned by Airlie Inglis, won Silver (image shown below).
Tubex UK Sales Manager Simon Place said: “We were delighted to once again support the Silviculture Award. Congratulations to the worthy winners.”
